The shows that Lzzy Hale did last year fronting Skid Row prompted many fans to ask the Halestorm frontwoman to join the New Jersey rockers on a permanent basis, but she says she’d rather keep it an occasional partnership.

Speaking to Metal Hammer, Hale says, “I’m forever grateful to those boys for asking me to tag along. I can’t wait to do it again.” However, she notes, “We left it like, ‘I can’t marry you, but we can totally have an affair sometime.’ If the guys send up the bat signal in a time of crisis, I’ll be there.”

Just in case, Hale says she’s making sure she doesn’t forget the songs, which she says learning to sing was “like an Olympic sport.”

“[Skid Row guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo]’s guitar tech is actually on tour with us right now – we’ve stolen him for now,” she explains. “When we went out to karaoke, he signed me up for all these Skid Row songs. We sent videos to the guys like, ‘Look, I still know the lyrics!!’”

Hale also says her experience with the band helped her “knock [out] some major insecurities.”

She says, “I got a multigenerational view of what I can bring to the table. It was also the first time I have performed without hiding behind an instrument, purely riding on my voice. When I got home after the shows, I walked back through my front door a totally different person.”
