After a surprise reunion at the end of 2024, Alabama Shakes have announced a full tour.
The outing kicks off July 16 in Chicago and will wrap up Sept. 27 in Irving, Texas. Presales begin Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. local time, and tickets go on sale to the general public on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. local time.
“Last year, [guitarist] Heath [Fogg], [bassist] Zac [Cockrel], and I started chatting about how much fun it would be to make music together and tour again as Alabama Shakes,” says frontwoman Brittany Howard. “This band and these songs have been such a source of joy for all of us.”
“It is crazy that it has been 10 years since we released [2015’s] Sound and Color [album] and eight years since we played a show,” Howard continues. “But, we didn’t want this to entirely be a look back. We wanted it to be as much about the future as the past. So we have a bunch of new music that will be released soon. We just can’t wait to experience that ‘feeling’ when we start playing those first few notes of ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’ or ‘Gimme All Your Love.'”
Drummer Steve Johnson will not be taking part in the reunion. Johnson was arrested in 2021 and charged with child abuse, which was later dismissed.
