Between being the frontman of Mt. Joy and a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, Matt Quinn has had an exciting few months.

In November, Mt. Joy teamed up with retired Eagles legend Jason Kelce on a reworked version of their song “Astrovan” for his A Philly Special Christmas Party album, and on Sunday, Quinn will watch his favorite team play in Super Bowl 59, taking place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

“Can you imagine the Philadelphia takeover of New Orleans?” Quinn muses to ABC Audio. “I’m not sure they have enough alcohol down there to allow Philly to come down there and win a Super Bowl in New Orleans, but that would be really special.”

Quinn grew up going to Eagles games — the Mt. Joy song “Cardinal” references the green bus he and his family and friends would take to the stadium.

“It was really Eagles-centered,” Quinn says of his upbringing. “People worked a lot, so the time that you would see all these people was eight times every fall in the Jetro parking lot, tailgating.”

As for his favorite all-time Eagle, Quinn may be a bit biased, but he chooses his recent collaborator.

“I’ve definitely had favorite players over the years, it kinda goes in and out,” he says. “But, I don’t wanna sound like I’m blowing smoke or anything, but Jason Kelce has to be one of, if not my favorite player of all time.”

The Eagles will take on the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59, airing Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
