TGI FRIDAY!

Morning folks!   First off, my favorite band, Korn premiered their fan-assisted official video for “Hater”–the lead single off their world tour edition deluxe reissue album, The Paradigm Shift: WORLD TOUR EDITION –exclusively onVEVO. Directed by Yarvo Productions, the video features fan-submitted video clips where they share personal experiences of being a victim of bullying, abuse or hatred and how that affected them. Watch the video for “Hater”:http://vevo.ly/935o9F. On “Hater,” frontman Jonathan Davis’ lyrics address challenges of victims of bullies and haters. In this video clip, the band has broken the fourth wall by providing an opportunity for real fans to speak out about their experiences of being hated. JD said “Almost everyone has felt bullied, pressured and beat down in their life by their hatersThis video helps to give a public voice to some of the challenges real people have faced, and reminds us all that self-harm and suicide.”  It’s heavy  and I had to turn away at one point.  You’ll see what I mean.  Korn also recently posted the concert video version of clip.  You can find that on Vevo as well.  Speaking of Vevo, look for my “list” of favorite videos in the coming weeks.  I’ll let ya know when…..Meanwhile, crazy story out of LA regardingScott Weiland.  TMZ broke a story saying Scott had been arrested for a felony and had been in jail for 30 days.  Turns out, the story was false. According toBlabbermouth, Scott posted a video message on his Facebook page (see the entire report here) in which he called the TMZ.com report a “lie” and insisted he has been “touring, writing and recording” his new album.  Weiland appeared with two band mates and said: “I just got reading something very interesting. A nice piece of fiction from TMZ saying that I was in jail and have been for a month. I’ve actually been touring, writing and recording my new album, at the studio we’re in right now, a Los Angeles studio. So all I have to say to our fans is whether you find it funny, or interesting, or whether you’re sad, don’t worry, don’t fret. It’s a lie. TMZ, you’ll be hearing from my attorneys. Thank you.”  Scott actually looked in really good shape, albeit I think he could use to eat something….I must’ve been asleep and missed that Foo Fighters posted a new 3:30 trailer for Sonic Highways, the album and the HBO mini-series.  Stop and watch.  I am so waiting for this!   Argh!  Gimme gimme gimme……AC/DC’s Phil Rudd told Australia’s Nine Network that his band is DEFINITELY touring to support their forthcoming album and mark their 40th anniversary as a band.  The band recorded their new alb um in Vancouver with Brendan O’Brien.  tour hasn’t been announced, but agents are putting a 40-city tour together as we speak.   Oh yes, I will be bringing earplugs. Meanwhile, Phil is releasing Head Job, his solo album, on Aug 30th. (Thanks Blabbermouth)….Sniff sniff.  Do you smell that?  Something is brewing in the Slipknot camp.  Monday we may know more…..Today would’ve been Alice In Chains’ frontman Layne Staley’s  47th birthday and blues legend John Lee Hooker’s 97th. Saturday, Rick Springfield turns, gulp, 64.
